Three Athletes In Contention for Young Sports Personality Prize

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.
The trio have been honoured for their exceptional achievements over the last year.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the very first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The finalists were unveiled on a popular morning radio program.
This year's winner will be announced during a live broadcast on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December.
The event will be broadcast from 7 PM GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.
These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the best young player in Europe.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
Littler's Profile

Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
His success continued - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a highlight for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an remarkable and historic innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it encourages more girls to get into cricket."
